Signing of MoU in Gaza with El-Amal Rehabilitation Society for the Disabled and the Al Quds Open University

El-Amal Rehabilitation Society - Rafah for the Disabled and the Al Quds Open University signed a memorandum of understanding within the Potentials project to support adult education in Palestine, implemented by DVV International in partnership with Johoud for Community and Rural Development funded by the European Union. 


Mr. Ziad Abed, Chairman of El-Amal Rehabilitation Society, pointed out that the signing of the MoU was based on a shared vision between the two parties in order to strengthen the participatory approach between organizations active in the field of adult education, and to invest in each other's resources, expertise and advice to serve the beneficiaries.



Mr. Jihad Badwan, Coordinator of Lifelong Learning Department in Al-Quds Open University, confirmed that the memorandum is the beginning of cooperation in order to achieve the objectives of the two parties in order to integrate them into the labor market. Mr. Badwan announced the first practical steps that will be applied in the near future, such as marketing of foods produced by deaf adults in El- Amal Rehabilitation Society in one of the branches of the university as a first stage.


Moreover, there will be courses and seminars for students and beneficiaries of Al-Quds Open University with technical direction by El-Amal Rehabilitation Society for the Disabled in fields such as sign language, and the profession of hairdressing. They also agreed to serve Al-Quds Open University with the food productions (by the deaf adults) to any of the activities by the university; workshops, conferences and seminars.
