In collaboration with the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), Muhay Community Development Centre’s volunteers organises an educational lecture within the cancer awareness campaign “Get screened, We support you”

Following the conclusion of the training “Community Empowerment and Improving Livelihoods Training” which was held at the Community Development Centre (CDC) Muhay/ Kerak by DVV International, the trainees succeeded to come up with initiatives under the slogan “Muhay is Beautiful” or “Muhay Ahla”. The training focused on developing leadership skills and a sense of community belonging.

The volunteers of the initiative organised a breast cancer awareness lecture, in cooperation with the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), led by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Muhay sports and cultural club which recently launched the breast cancer awareness campaign under the slogan “Get screened, We support you”.



During the day, one of the volunteers opened the lecture with a speech in which she expressed the happiness of the volunteers in organizing such an initiative in their community, and welcomed the lecturer from the National Cancer Institute and the nurse from the Ministry of Health. The volunteers noted that the training allowed them to understand and meet the needs of Muhay, helped them to come up with initiatives that will best serve their community, and raised the importance of the teamwork, which will make Muhay a better place.


From his end, Mr. Bashir Al Tarawneh the Manager of Muhay CDC praised the volunteers for their great efforts, and thanked DVV International for their support of the training and the volunteers’ initiatives.
